BOARD MEETING
APRIL 2, 2004

Chapter Meeting Minutes Friday, April 2, 2004 Quality Inn South Madison,WI

1. Meeting called to order by President Amy Passow. Welcome and Introductions made.

2. Members were reminded that meeting minutes are available on the website. If there are any changes that need to be made the chapter secretary, Linda Rasmussen should be notified. A paper copy of the minutes from the last meeting will be available at the registration table at the following meeting for membership perusal.

3. Treasure Report was given by Nira Fisher

4. The dates for remaining 2004 Chapter Meetings were identified. They will be held on June 18, September 17 or 24 and November 12 or 29. Members were reminded that notification and registration for chapter business would be by email and/or on the website. Snail mail would only be used for those members without computer access. The Board is also looking into having a meeting at the Elder Law Center. Members should be watching for this possible change of location. The speaker for the June 18 meeting will be from The Elder Law Center and the topic will be on Medicare changes and The Benefit Specialist Program.

5. Amy and Bob reported on activities from National. They will be attending the National Conference at the end of the month. We approved to pay for their attendance at The National Pace Setter Campaign luncheon that would be held during the national conference.

6. Bob is planning on attending a conference "Celebrating 100 Years of Social Work in Health Care" April 13-16 in Houston. He is hoping to bring back information about the Home Health Care Organization that has recently combined with national.

7. Amy reported that 38 of the 43 respondents approved of the proposed changes in the By-Laws.

8. The Program The Potential For Social Work Advocacy In Long Term Care Redesign: The Minnesota Experience was presented by Ken House from North Memorial Medical Center and Michael O'Brien from The Mayo Clinic. The program ran from 10:00-3:00 with a 1 hour lunch break.

9. Our next Chapter Meeting will be Friday, June 18, 2004.
