to screen attachments thus downloads from the website are the
mode of information distribution

Conference Sharing
Case Management Society of
America, Tampa
- Same issues among this group
that SW have had over the years
- Relationships with other disciplines
- RN have been better than showing
their value to the organization than SWs have
- Data collection
- Does a CCM need to also be
NASW member?
- Much of the membership is
insurance based: many vendors at the conference
Social Work and Case Management:
merging NACM and ACM, Las Vegas
- Merging nursing and social
work functions
- Ongoing polar perspectives
- Core competency: the ability
to link: this is a SW skill
- How to determine the correct
caseload per social worker
- Outcome measurement: what
is it that we do that helps a positive outcome?
- Advocacy, cost efficient,
id case factors, family contact,
- Case management is still identified
as a nursing provided function
SSWLHC conference, Orlando
- Publication: "Continuum";
John Reynolds an excellent article on Case Management in Feb issue.
Perhaps send copy of article to members?
- More SWs than nurses at this
conference
- Good Workshops & Presentations:
- Susan Saunders: "Its
what you do, not what you call It"
- HIV longevity issues
- Greg Jensen - SW in End of
Life care
- Organ donation, emotionally
laden issues, pain management, compassionate care
- SW and UR: a necessary function
SWs must handle
- Learn physiology, medication
management, lab values. Imperative knowledge needed to work in
a medical setting SW must be involved in CQI
- Service and hospitality issues:
Disney speaker
- L. Greg Cunningham
"Collaboration vs. silos of care"; An excellent presentation
on collaborative practice.
- Internet Academy online discharge
planning, resource sharing. Strong support for use of Email information
sharing & long distance discharge planning
- Sara Parrin - BBA: the relationship
between hosp and nursing homes
- Salaries: difference between
RN and SW in this role. If you can match job descriptions they
must be paid the same. Be aware of what market-rating tool HR
is using--salary discrepancies may be a product of this tool.
- ER case management: Frequent
flyers, San Francisco pilot; ER staffing is complicated

Antonio, Reg. fee will be approx $350.00 for members, April 25-29,

End-of-Life Care Issues. This workshop was presented at the recent
Orlando conference. Program will be free for members and a reg.
fee will be charged for non-members. This was approved by members
