CHAPTER MEETING MINUTES

Brief Chapter Meeting prior to Seminar "Ethical Issues in Working with Mentally Ill Individuals: Practice Standards, Protocols, and Approaches.

Introductions and Sharing re: what's new/happening at individual organizations. Total of 57 registered for today's seminar. Welcome to 13 new members.

NASW UPDATE - Marc Herstand, NASW, provided update of SW issues of concern to NASW. AODA counseling certification still unresolved. Check NASW website for upcoming educational programs: www.naswwi.org

COP UPDATE - Pat Anderson gave report including list of nursing homes that have closed since 1989 and resulting number of decrease in beds.

WEB SITE - Neil O'Connor reported new look to website. Check it out at www.wischap-sswlhc.org

ELECTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR - Nominations still being accepted for President-Elect, Secretary, and Board Member at Large. Also, need volunteer for WHA liaison.

NEXT YEAR MEETING SCHEDULE - New board will meet in January and set future meeting dates. Watch for first chapter meeting in early March. Will continue to hold all meetings at Quality Inn South in Madison.

Meeting adjourned to begin seminar as described above. 6 CEU's offered for today's program.
