November Educational Meeting

Everything is in the mail, on-line registration on-line.  Amy did request today for LCD and Laptop and extension cord.  Discussed lunch options.

Amy and Mary Jo to work out AV options if Amy can’t get for some reason.  Mary Jo to order the Western buffet for lunch.  Amy to e-mail registrant names to Mary Jo (for hotel confirmation purposes) and Sharon (to get Certificates of Attendance and name tags ready) November 10.

Bi Laws

Discussed timing of completing revisions and getting to members for approval.

Sharon to get current draft to board members for final comment and will then post on the web site for members to review and approve.

Board Election

Discussed timing of sending out ballots.

Sharon to check with Susan and Nira as to whether either would be willing to run as treasurer.  Once confirmed, she’ll send ballot by e-mail and paper mail next week with one-week return time.  Will include approval of bi-laws on ballot.

2004 education on Nursing Home bed reductions

Sharon discussed briefly with Bob Miller.  He suggests we propose dates for the MN people to react to and an honorarium to offer, a tentative title and tentative bullet points to cover and we could then do a conference call with them about it.  Then get NASW and NH social work groups on board. 

Discussed whether the nursing home social workers have their own organization and, if so, finding out if they already have some kind of initiative on this.

Brian to find out from Marc if he knows of a nursing home social work group and whether there is an initiative in the works. 

Discussion of stipend for 2004 National SSWLHC conference

$750 stipend for President and President elect to attend.  If both can’t attend, will offer to other board members. If no other board members can attend, will offer to a chapter member.
