Board Meeting Minutes
Friday, October 8th, 2004

1. Review and Approval of Minutes
§ Awaiting minutes from last board meeting (7.21.04)
2. Treasurer’s Report
§ We have $4,805.44 in our checking account
3. Asking Russell King to join us as HH liaison
§ Awaiting report from Linda
4. Level I Meeting – October 29th
§ Flyers went out via “snail mail” to members
5. Committee Updates
§ Program Committee
§ Letter to George Potaracke approved, Amy will mail
§ Next meeting will be Nov 12th, Sharon working on
§ Board reviewed emails Amy received from various state chapters asking them what they pay their speakers, and decided 2005 speakers would be paid a $75 honorarium plus mileage and hotel if they are from out-of-town.
§ Mileage reimbursement to be same as that for federal employees (set yearly by General Services Administration – www.gsa.gov) - 2004 rate is 37.5 cents/mile – 2005 rate not yet released.
§ Nominating Committee
o Board Elections – ballots have been handed out. Amy has received 28 back thus far. They are due back by Dec 1st.
o Amy will likely make recommendation to board that we amend the bylaws to tighten up time frame for nominations/elections (currently Sep 1 – Dec 1).
o WI Health Care Social Work Leader of the Year – we will mail in Neil’s national membership application/check in November so his membership will run Nov ’04 – Nov ’05. Per Trish, a call for nominations from national will come out in December and will be due back in February.
§ Membership
§ Annual renewal notices need to be sent out.
§ Amy will help Nira with this. We will include a color brochure, asking people to give it to one colleague they feel may be interested in our organization.
§ We will give people the choice to receive snail mail or email notifications
§ Color brochures with a cover letter to be sent to the VA SWers by Susan.
§ Health Policy
§ Lobby day will be March 30th
